Tall Jar: Private collector

Description: First 4 pictures: this very rare, small, covered jar we believe was used to hold small objects and placed on a person's dressing table. The jar resembles a round canister but it is squatter than a similar sized canister. We consider this a "Mixed Pattern" form as there is a person on the bridge on the top and bottom. The rain cloud border is on the top only and the decoration is finer on the top compared to the bottom. Note that there are no sampans in the decorations. The bottom has a small raised edge to help hold the top on.

Second 3 pictures: another very rare, covered jar also believed to hold small objects and placed on a person's dressing table. The jar resembles a round canister and is taller than the squatter jar discussed above. We also consider this a "Mixed Pattern" form as there is a person on the bridge on the top. Note on the bottom that the scholar is not in the tea house but is outside holding a parasol! The rain cloud border is also on the top only. Again, there are no sampans in the decorations. The bottom has a small raised edge to help hold the top on. These are very interesting and rare Canton forms.
